Interior design
6 things to know, answers to frequently asked questions
Where do we start?
To properly define the scope of your project, we need a few details:
- Your budget.
- Your preferred deadlines.
- Photos, and if you have them, any existing plans.
- Some inspiration, if you already have an idea of the direction you’d like to take, so that we can better understand your expectations.
We will then arrange an on-site meeting to discuss your project, clarify your ideas and draw up a tailored fee proposal.
How do you choose the right interior designer?
Before you commit, here are the key points to check:
- Visit their website and view their portfolio.
- Check customer reviews and/or their local reputation
- Find out about their qualifications (qualifications, CFAI accreditation – French Council of Interior Architects)
- Ensure they have valid ten-year liability insurance.
This last point is crucial for the safety of your project.
How much should I budget for?
Our fees are calculated based on the final cost of the works (excluding VAT) and the floor area of the premises.
If we are not responsible for overseeing your building project, we will provide a fixed-price quotation for what is known as the ‘preliminary design’ or ‘design’ phase.
We can support you as required, either comprehensively or on a selective basis:
- Project design and layout
- Planning applications and building permits
- Interior design
- Consultation with contractors
- Site supervision / project management
